Early Ordering Crop Protection

December 1, 2020 | By: Brent Lytle

Tis the season for holidays and time with family, as much as we can anyway with Covid in mind. As the holidays approach for another year, so does the time of year to start your crop planning for next year and with that comes early ordering crop protection chemicals. Here at Farm Nutrients, we work with all of the major crop protection manufacturers to provide solutions that are tailored specifically to your farm.

To ensure you remember things when it comes time to make crop protection decisions, make a list of problem fields and any product issues you may have had in 2020. Was there a performance issue with a particular herbicide system? Did you see any particular disease or insect pressure that a planned application for 2021 could benefit from? Another thing to remember is the field’s history from before 2020. With the unique growing season we faced and getting crops planted and sprayed in a relatively normal timeframe, we didn’t see as many diseases, insects, and even herbicide escapes in 2020 as we have in the last few years. Keep in mind this extended field history when working with your agronomist. Early ordering any additional crop protection needs can benefit your operation by saving money up front rather than waiting to order in season and for many operations provides some tax benefits.

We are offering several options for financing for 2021 as well. The best opportunities to save money with Farm Nutrients while utilizing financing options will come in the next 30-60 days. Many manufacturers are offering rebates as well to maximize that prepay dollar and incentivize early ordering of product.

We hope to hear from you to help with your crop protection needs this 2020 holiday season and look forward to helping you reach your yield goals in 2021!
